Teaching, Mediation, Community Engagement
Eeducator
My name is Leila and I am a dedicated educator and community leader with a comprehensive background in teaching, mediation, and community engagement. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, and a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University.
Currently, I teach a community class in Canada, focusing on supporting students with special needs, multilingual learners, and acquiring mathematics and literacy, in addition to providing general instruction.
My passion for education was sparked by a meaningful conversation with a parent, which led me to reflect on children’s literature, the arts, and the importance of effective teaching methodologies.
My interest in art, literature, and storytelling is rooted in a deep appreciation for creativity, human connection, and the natural world. I believe that art transcends language barriers and serves as a powerful catalyst for promoting peace and mutual understanding.
Additionally, I have carefully crafted footnotes to passionately raise awareness about Ontario’s education system. My heartfelt goal is to illuminate the truth, dispel harmful misconceptions, and truly honour the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our educators.
My background also includes specialized training as a conflict resolution mediator through the City of Toronto, where I volunteered to assist families facing various challenges. I am dedicated to growing and learning throughout my life, truly passionate about honing important life skills and embracing the positive and transformative aspects of good parenting.
I possess interpretation and translation skills, particularly in making educational materials accessible to diverse communities, such as creating explanatory documents about autism in Farsi for recently arrived families.
I am also committed to developing programs that incorporate mindfulness and wellness practices, including winter break camps for children centred on yoga and meditation.
Beyond my educational and mediation work, I am an accomplished writer dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of Ontario’s education system.
I leverage my expertise in teaching, art, and language interpretation to support community well-being and foster nurturing environments where children can succeed emotionally, socially, and academically.
